This website has been created to record Baker families living in the North East of England, prior to 1901.
The families listed here are not all related.
The only qualification to enter your family onto this website, is that you have ancestor called Baker and at some point prior to 1901 they lived in North Yorkshire, Cleveland, Durham or Northumberland.
So if you can trace your Baker roots back to the North East of England, then get in touch and I will add your family to this site. Hopefully this site will grow to be a useful research tool for those researching the Baker name.
So far, two Baker trees are recorded on this site -
1) The Bakers of Melsonby - descendants of John Baker born about 1660. These Bakers lived at Hudswell, Hipswell, Scotton, Newsham, Barnard Castle and Darlington (owner of tree Paul Baker - paul.debrabaker@ntlworld.com).
2) The Bakers of Great Bushby - descendants of William Baker born about 1657. These Bakers lived in Stokesley, Bilsdale, Chop Gate, Northallerton and Darlington (owner of tree Rosemary Murray - rosemary.e.murray@ntlworld.com).
